Home is…

Why does being at home wind me up so fucking much? Two hours… that’s all it takes. God help me if I ever have to move back home (which, luckily, is never going to happen). Time to do what I’ve often done in such situations: lie down, pitch black, Slint’s Spiderland in the headphones. The healing process.

On the bright side, today I went to visit my nan, who has just this week had eye surgery. It’s the first time she’s seen me as anything more than a dark blur for three years. Even though the first thing she said was “you look a bit stupid in a baseball cap”, I got a bit choked when she said it was the first time she’d properly seen how I’ve grown up at uni - which, as she then pointed out - isn’t much :)
